Meet the team
Charlie Palmer
Born in 1967, Charlie was educated at Harrow School and later studied business and finance at South Bank University. He joined Allied Dunbar in 1992 as a sales associate before leaving to become an IFA in 1997. He registered direct with the PIA in 1998, trading as Financial. Financial incorporated in 2001 when it started to offer network services. Charlie passed FPC in 1996, and is Treasurer of Whittington Church. He lives on a working farm with his wife and four children and is a keen polo player.
Dick Raby
Dick is an Essex farmer's son but moved to Chipping Campden in 1989. He was educated at Felsted School and then at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. He was in the grain trade for some 15 years and upon leaving joined Allied Dunbar in 1991 where he met Charlie Palmer. Dick has over 18 years experience in the financial services industry and has been an IFA for Financial Private clients since 2004. Read more »

Richard Thompson
Richard, originally from Manchester, joined the company in May 2009. He is a Business Graduate from the University of Salford and comes armed with many years experience in customer service, accounts management and administration in the financial industry. He currently lives in Abbeymead, Gloucester. At first he found it hard to adjust to the slower pace of life in this part of the world, but now enjoys the benefits. These include going to the local pub and being served without a large queue and seeing wildlife outside on a regular basis. Read more »
If he saw a rabbit running free before he moved to Gloucestershire, it had obviously escaped from someone’s garden hutch! He also has a keen interest in restoring antique furniture and likes to keep up with current affairs.

Simon Thompson
Simon joined Financial Private Clients in June 2010. He began his financial career with NatWest but has since worked for both providers, IFAs and Zurich. He has the Financial Planning Certificate and Investment Administration Qualification. His role as a paraplanner involves preparing concise recommendation reports, producing suitability letters and undertaking research to identify suitable products and portfolios using various financial systems for the benefit of clients to assess current plans and policies for the future. He works with Dick to complete any tasks involved in preparing a Financial Plan and with Richard when administering these policies. He is married with a child on the way! He enjoys playing and watching football and considers himself a novice golfer.
